2W = Hazard ID Number.

If the vehicle is taken aboard a ship the IMDG (maritime) markings will be required.

• A Placard (diamond) on both sides and rear with the UN number in the lower half of the placard, or on an orange strip alongside the placard.
• For an unaccompanied container or trailer the placard and UN number must be on all 4 sides.
• A marine pollutant triangle may also be required.
• Placards etc. must be able to withstand sea water for a minimum of 3 months.

It’s the drivers responsibility to ensure the markings are correct for onward shipping.
